Insalata di Fichi, Mozzarella e Prosciutto
Ingredients:
6 ripe figs washed and quartered.
1 ball of fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced.
4-6 slices of prosciutto, torn into bite-sized pieces
1 cup salad leaves
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pine nuts for extra crunch
Instructions:
In a large salad bowl, combine the quartered figs, sliced mozzarella, torn prosciutto, and salad leaves.
In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar and olive oil to make the dressing. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.
If desired, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pine nuts over the salad for extra texture and flavor.
Serve the fig, mozzarella, and prosciutto salad immediately as a delightful appetizer or side dish.
